Common Questions about Island Dossiers

What are creature dossiers in ARK?
Dossiers are Helena Walker's field sketches of each creature. You find them at fixed spots out in the world; picking one up logs that creature's entry — its stats, temperament and taming notes — under the Explorer Notes tab. They're a separate collectible set from the written explorer notes.
How many creature dossiers are on The Island?
This page lists 101 Island dossier locations with exact coordinates, grouped by area. They're distinct from the 90 written explorer notes, which live on their own page.
Are these dossier coordinates verified?
The coordinates come from the ARK community wiki (ark.wiki.gg). The ones marked ✓ Verified we've collected first-hand in ARK: Survival Ascended and screenshotted at the spot — the coordinate we show is the GPS reading straight off our own HUD. More get verified as we run the caves.
Are dossier locations the same in ASE and ASA?
Yes. The Island is the same map in ARK: Survival Evolved and Survival Ascended, so every dossier sits at the same Latitude and Longitude in both.
How do I read the coordinates?
They're in-game GPS values written as Latitude, Longitude. Open your map (default M) to see your current Lat/Lon, then travel to the listed spot. You'll need a GPS unlocked or an item that shows coordinates.
