ARK Megalosaurus Spawn Command

A nocturnal carnivore that locks its jaw on prey in a grab attack, holding and gnawing victims until they die or are released. At night its stamina and attack output increase significantly; during the day it becomes groggy — attacks are slower, deal less damage, and drain more stamina. Megalosaurus is a carnivore. Found primarily in caves, making knockout taming tricky — bring a Cryopod since cryo is available on all maps. Day performance is significantly debuffed; plan taming and combat around night cycles.

Primary attack (left-click/RT/R2/ZR) is the bite. Secondary attack (right-click/LT/L2/ZL) grabs a target with drag weight 150 or less. Once grabbed, pressing primary attack gnaws the held victim; pressing secondary again drops it. The radial menu has a Sleep option — manually sleeping during the day triggers the Chalico Sit Buff, reducing Food consumption by 50% and recovering 2% Health per second up to 50%. Do NOT dismount while it is holding a live taming target, or it will gnaw it to death autonomously. Use exclusively at night for full combat effectiveness. The grab is highly practical for taming: grab a potential tame, carry it to a secure pen, then drop it — far more flexible than a bola. It can only grab wild or enemy creatures, not allied tames. Caves are ideal daytime staging areas since it fits through most cave entrances and the dim environment partially masks its daytime debuff. TLC in 2026 is noted by the wiki.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Megalosaurus_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Megalosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Megalosaurus_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use cheat gmsummon "Megalosaurus_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level — ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

summon drops a wild Megalosaurus at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify — the one most people want.
