ARK Megapithecus Spawn Command

A boss-only giant ape that hurls massive boulders (each capable of one-shotting a mounted survivor if not dodged), delivers melee smash attacks with knockback, and spawns Mesopithecus and Gigantopithecus minions as combat support. Megapithecus is a n/a (boss, not tameable). Minions include both Mesopithecus and Gigantopithecus. Found only in boss arenas — cannot be encountered in the open world. The Island arena is atop a snow-covered mountain temple.

Not tameable. Summoned at the Megapithecus Arena terminal on The Island (also appears in The Center Arena and Valguero's Forsaken Oasis). Stay mobile to dodge boulder throws — maintain distance. Most groups lure it onto the starting teleport pad to keep tames away from the insta-kill pit to the arena's right. Considered the easiest Island boss due to no armor-piercing AoE. Bring Fur Armor or Fria Curry — the arena is cold enough to freeze unprotected players. A Rex squad with Yutyrannus support is the standard loadout. The pit to the right of the spawn is an insta-kill zone; never push tames toward it. Drops Tekgrams and Element on defeat.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Gorilla_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Megapithecus in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Gorilla_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Gorilla_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

Yes. The builder above generates a single SpawnExactDino command that bakes the level and the imprint into one copy-paste line. The saddle comes as a separate cheat gfi command (it can't ride inside the spawn). To set its colours, spawn it first, then use the ARK Dino Color Builder to build the SetTargetDinoColor commands (with a live preview).

summon drops a wild Megapithecus at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
