ARK Quetzal Spawn Command

The Quetzal is the only flying creature that supports a full platform saddle, making it a mobile aerial base. It uses very little stamina in flight, allowing extremely extended airborne operations, and can grab medium-to-large creatures mid-air with its claws. Quetzal is a herbivore. Knockout-tamed with Exceptional Kibble as the top food. Constantly airborne and flees when shot, making it one of the harder tames — requires a flying mount for pursuit or a Ballista/Harpoon to ground it. Spawns at very high altitudes near mountain peaks. Found on all major maps.

Fly normally with Space/A to ascend and land. Grab creatures mid-air with Left-click/RT while airborne (costs 80 stamina). Structures can be built directly on the Quetz Platform Saddle — build them in advance, load harvesters onto the saddle, then pilot the Quetzal over resource-rich areas while passengers harvest from above. To tame one, use a Chain Bola from a Ballista Turret or a Net Projectile from a Harpoon Launcher to ground it temporarily, then tranquilize it. The optimal Quetzal strategy is as a flying resource platform: equip the Quetz Platform Saddle, place an Ankylosaurus or Doedicurus on it, fly to metal or stone nodes, and land briefly while the harvester tame works. The Quetzal's high stamina means you rarely need to land to rest. Level Stamina first for extended operations, then Weight to maximize haul capacity. Keep a forge on the saddle to smelt metal during transit.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Quetz_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Quetzal in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Quetz_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use cheat gmsummon "Quetz_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level — ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

summon drops a wild Quetzal at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify — the one most people want.
