ARK Rex Spawn Command

The Rex has a Roar that stuns lower-leveled wild and non-allied dinos and survivors within a 75-degree cone up to 35m, forcing them to defecate and be immobilized for 4 seconds. It is the benchmark boss-fighting mount in ARK and can be equipped with a Tek Saddle that fires plasma projectiles capable of damaging all structure types. Rex is a carnivore. Knockout-tamed; Exceptional Kibble is the fastest option. Found across virtually all maps, typically in open areas, beaches, and plains. Has a 3x headshot damage multiplier during the knockout process. The Rex received a major TLC overhaul on February 10, 2018, that introduced the current roar and model.

Bite with Left-click. Trigger the Roar with Right-click/LT/L2 — this stuns lower-level wild creatures and non-allied survivors in a forward cone, with a 6-minute cooldown after use. The roar does not affect allied tames. For boss fights, bring a Yutyrannus alongside your Rex army to apply Courage Roar — the Yuty buff stacks with the Rex's raw stats. The Tek Saddle's plasma cannon fires with Ctrl while mounted. The Roar is most useful to open combat against wild creatures or to scatter wild predators. For boss fights (Broodmother, Megapithecus, Dragon), level primarily Health, with secondary points in Melee Damage. A squad of 15–19 high-level Rexes escorted by a Yutyrannus and Daeodon is the standard boss army on most maps. A Rex with a Tek Saddle can slowly destroy enemy structures, useful in PvP raiding. Taming with Exceptional Kibble takes roughly 58 minutes and requires about 17 kibble at level 1.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Rex_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Rex in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Rex_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Rex_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

Yes. The builder above generates a single SpawnExactDino command that bakes the level and the imprint into one copy-paste line. The saddle comes as a separate cheat gfi command (it can't ride inside the spawn). summon drops a wild Rex at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
