Spawn a tamed Ichthyornis at any level

gmsummon spawns it already tamed. Set the level below — it's the pre-tame level, and ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus on top, so the final creature lands higher. Change the number, copy, paste.

What does the Ichthyornis do in ARK?
Hunt and Retrieve: when set to this behavior mode, it autonomously hunts small creatures or fish, kills them, and returns the corpse to the player with a golden aura that upgrades loot quality — allowing Raw Prime Fish Meat or Raw Prime Meat to be harvested from prey that would normally yield only standard meat. Ichthyornis is a piscivore / prefers raw prime fish meat; will steal and consume all player food items if given the opportunity. Tamed via knockout (bola + tranq arrows is the recommended method; level 150 requires approximately 14 tranq arrows from a bow). It spawns along coasts and over water on most maps. Its dive attack cannot be blocked — it will always steal a food item from the player when it lands the attack.
How do you use the Ichthyornis's ability in ARK?
Switch behavior via the creature's radial command wheel (not a hotkey). Three modes are available: No Hunt (standard attacks only), Hunt (grabs and eats prey autonomously), and Hunt and Retrieve (returns corpses to the player). Set to Hunt and Retrieve, then have it follow you — it works passively from there as long as prey is within render distance. Level Health, Damage, and Speed to improve hunting efficiency. Keep it within render distance or prey won't be detected. Keep fish or small land animals nearby (Dodos, Compys) as a reliable supply. Movement Speed can be leveled on this creature, which is uncommon for flyers — useful for chasing fish. On PvE official servers the flyer-carry option is disabled, preventing it from hunting land creatures.
What is the Ichthyornis good for in ARK?
Taming support (producing Raw Prime Meat and Raw Prime Fish Meat for early carnivore tames), passive food collection, shoulder-mount weight reduction (carried items weigh 50% less while it is on your shoulder).

How do I spawn a tamed Ichthyornis at a specific level?
Use cheat gmsummon "Ichthyornis_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level — ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.
What's the difference between summon, SummonTamed and gmsummon?
summon drops a wild Ichthyornis at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify — the one most people want.
Do ARK spawn commands work in single player and on servers?
Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
