Spawn a tamed Baryonyx at any level

gmsummon spawns it already tamed. Set the level below — it's the pre-tame level, and ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus on top, so the final creature lands higher. Change the number, copy, paste.

ARK Baryonyx FAQ — Ability, Uses & Spawn Commands

What does the Baryonyx do in ARK?
Its tail spin (water-only) deals 25 damage and stuns most medium-sized aquatic creatures for 10 seconds, leaving them completely helpless. It also heals 7.5 HP per piece of raw fish meat consumed, compared to 1.5 HP from standard meat on other carnivores. Baryonyx is a piscivore (primarily fish; gains only fish-based healing). Tamed via knockout — prefers Regular Kibble, with Raw Prime Fish Meat as backup. Cannot be immobilized by Bolas. Despite dossier claims of being passive to land animals, it behaves aggressively toward all creatures in practice.
How do you use the Baryonyx's ability in ARK?
The tail spin is the secondary attack, activated by right-click (PC) / LT (Xbox) / L2 (PS) / ZL (Switch) — but ONLY works in water. On land it is an ordinary melee creature. Healing from fish meat is passive; simply keep fish in its inventory. Use the tail spin to lock down targets, then attack the stunned creature freely. The 10-second stun window is long enough to dispatch most medium aquatics or knock out a taming target. It auto-harvests kills, preventing resource theft. Level Melee Damage for combat, Health for survivability in extended cave clears. It has no Oxygen stat, so it can stay underwater indefinitely.
What is the Baryonyx good for in ARK?
Underwater combat (stun-locking aquatics), cave runs on most Island caves except ice and ocean variants, underwater resource harvesting (riders can use tools while mounted without needing to surface), and neutralizing Manta escorts when taming other creatures like Basilosaurus.
What is the Baryonyx spawn command in ARK?

How do I spawn a tamed Baryonyx at a specific level?
Use cheat gmsummon "Baryonyx_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level — ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.
What's the difference between summon, SummonTamed and gmsummon?
summon drops a wild Baryonyx at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify — the one most people want.
Do ARK spawn commands work in single player and on servers?
Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
