ARK Stegosaurus Spawn Command

A herbivore with three switchable plate modes (cycled with the C key) that each change both its harvesting specialization and its tail attack behavior: Hardened Plates (50% incoming damage reduction + wood harvesting bonus), Heavy Plates (slows enemies on tail hit + thatch harvesting bonus), and Sharpened Plates (30% armor penetration on tail hits + berry harvesting bonus). Its secondary attack Impale pins a target creature, zeroing its stamina and preventing regen for 15 seconds after release. Stegosaurus is a herbivore. Wild Stegosaurs spawn in Hardened Plate mode and are docile until attacked — but nearby herd members will assist. Preferred taming food is Regular Kibble. Rideable-while-using-weapons and rider dismount immunity (passive via plates) make it one of the safest mounts for mounted combat.

Cycle plate modes with C (Special 1 key) — the current mode displays at the top of the screen. Tail Swing is the primary attack; Impale is the secondary attack and requires a valid target. Plate cycling costs 5 stamina with a 3-second interval between switches. Impale works on creatures up to 550 drag weight. Harvesting efficiency drops to 1x if the wrong plate mode is active — always match mode to the resource before gathering. Sharpened Plates for berries; Heavy Plates for thatch; Hardened Plates for wood. Level Melee Damage and Weight for a gathering Stego. For tanking, stay in Hardened Plates — combined with a Yutyrannus courage roar and mate boost, damage taken drops to approximately 14% of normal. Dismount immunity is passive through all plate modes (only Net Projectiles or unconsciousness can dismount the rider), making it an exceptionally safe combat platform.

Gathering Berries (Sharpened mode), Thatch (Heavy mode), Wood (Hardened mode); boss fight tanking and bullet soaking; PvP turret soaking; Impaling/crowd controlling smaller creatures; transporting heavy berry/cactus loads (75% weight reduction on berries and cactus sap).

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Stego_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Stegosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Stego_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Stego_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

Yes. The builder above generates a single SpawnExactDino command that bakes the level and the imprint into one copy-paste line. The saddle comes as a separate cheat gfi command (it can't ride inside the spawn). To set its colours, spawn it first, then use the ARK Dino Color Builder to build the SetTargetDinoColor commands (with a live preview).

summon drops a wild Stegosaurus at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
