ARK Thorny Dragon Spawn Command

Fires torpor-inducing spines as a ranged attack (right-click/LT/L2/ZL) that drain enemy stamina and increase torpor on impact. The saddle functions as a mobile Smithy, letting the rider craft gear in the field. It also auto-harvests trees passively when unmounted and under 50% weight capacity. Thorny Dragon is a carnivore. The dossier incorrectly lists its diet as Herbivore — it is actually a Carnivore. It was the first 'mystery creature' reveal for Scorched Earth (March 2016). Players can use weapons while mounted.

Spine shot is activated with the secondary attack button (right-click/LT/L2/ZL) and costs 15 stamina per shot. Spine damage is fixed at 1 per spike and does NOT scale with Melee Damage — it is purely a torpor/stamina drain tool. The smithy function is always active while the saddle is equipped; open the creature's inventory to craft. Auto-harvest is fully passive when unmounted. For knocking out tames, invest heavily in Melee Damage (400%+ melee makes it capable of knocking Rex-level creatures safely). For wood transport, prioritize Weight — the Thorny Dragon carries fiber, stone, thatch, and wood at 50% their normal weight. Keep distance during combat and spam spine shots to drain stamina before closing in with the bite. Do not back away while firing; they close ground faster than expected.

Early-to-mid game wood and building-material harvesting; mobile Smithy for field crafting; taming assistant (low-damage torpor application is safe for high-value tames); resource transport with 50% weight reduction on wood, fiber, stone, and thatch.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon SpineyLizard_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Thorny Dragon in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "SpineyLizard_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "SpineyLizard_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

summon drops a wild Thorny Dragon at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
