ARK Archaeopteryx Spawn Command

When a player carries the Archaeopteryx and jumps off a high surface, pressing the Reload key (R by default) activates a glide that dramatically slows descent from any height — effectively a living parachute. It also passively produces Sap when wandering near Redwood trees. Archaeopteryx is a carnivore (chitin post-tame; prefers simple kibble for taming). Found in Redwood forests on The Island, Joshua trees on Scorched Earth, and commonly on Extinction. Flees from threats and has no combat ability worth noting.

Pick up the Archaeopteryx (it can be carried without harm). Jump from any height and press R (Reload) while airborne to begin gliding. Release to descend faster. It cannot truly fly — it is strictly a glide tool. For Sap production, set it to wander near Redwood trees and collect passively. Most valuable in the Tek Cave, where gliding over obstacles and enemies that would kill a sprinting player is a major advantage. Use it to safely scout drops from cliffs before your flyer mounts run out of stamina — dismount in the air, grab the Archa, and glide. Sap generation is slow (roughly 1–2 Sap per 5–10 minutes) but requires zero effort. It is tamed by knockout; post-tame it eats Chitin only (Simple Kibble preferred for taming efficiency).

Emergency parachute substitute, Tek Cave traversal, passive Sap harvesting, aerial stamina recovery during long flights (dismount the flyer to let it regen while you glide).

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Archa_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Archaeopteryx in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Archa_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Archa_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

summon drops a wild Archaeopteryx at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
