ARK Dimorphodon Spawn Command

A shoulder pet that attacks nearby enemies from your shoulder. Passively targets riders instead of their mounts — making it uniquely effective at dismounting enemy players. When thrown off the shoulder (double-tap F / dedicated button), it attacks the player's targeted enemy. A swarm of 6 can kill stronger creatures without losses due to their extremely small hitbox. Dimorphodon is a carnivore. Knockout tame using Bola + tranq arrows or Tranq Darts. Preferred food is Regular Kibble. Its 'focus on rider' passive means it prioritizes enemy players over their mounts — effective in PvP. Items stored in its inventory weigh 50% less to the player while shouldered.

Pick up and place on shoulder via the interaction key. Throw it at a specific target by double-tapping F (or the equivalent). While mounted, you cannot pick it back up without dismounting. Set to Neutral while on shoulder so it auto-attacks threats like Titanomyrma and Compies. For Bee Hive taming: whistle attack on the hive, then quickly whistle Passive to call them back before they touch the queen or drones. Level Health and Melee Damage. Their tiny hitbox makes them hard to hit for both players and AI — wild dinos frequently miss them entirely. Keep a pack of 6 and use the pack to eliminate Bee Hives quickly without drawing drones (a unique niche). In caves they are unmatched: shoulder-carry through narrow passages, then throw to target. Be cautious near AoE attackers (Stegosaurus, Bronto) which can one-shot swarms. Items in the Dimorphodon's inventory weigh only half as much to the player while it is on their shoulder.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Dimorph_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Dimorphodon in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Dimorph_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use cheat gmsummon "Dimorph_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level — ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

summon drops a wild Dimorphodon at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify — the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
