ARK Onyc Spawn Command

Every bite has a 10% chance to inflict Mega Rabies even through a mount, which gradually weakens the target over time if they lack a Lesser Antidote. A swarm of tamed Onycs deals significant armor-shredding damage and can be deployed as a guard or hunter pack. Onyc is a omnivore. Non-violent passive tame — requires Bug Repellant applied first, then hand-feed preferred food (Cooked Lamb Chop, Raw Mutton, Raw Prime Meat) from the last hotbar slot. Requires player level 65 to feed. Found in caves across most maps.

Not rideable. Tamed Onycs are directed via standard AI commands (Follow, Attack, Guard). They bite for 35 base damage on a 0.67s cooldown. Deploy swarms on Guard at your base or send them on Follow for offensive use. The disease transmission is passive on each hit — no activation required. Level Health and Damage for guard/swarm roles; add Speed for player-hunting. Their 35 base damage equals Carnotaurus/Sarco, paired with armor-rending and disease on every hit. Mix with Dimorphodons to fill gaps in swarm coverage. They cannot be mounted but can escort cave expeditions. The disease threat means even a small group of high-level Onycs can force targets to retreat.

Base guard (armor-shredding + Mega Rabies on raiders), offensive player-hunter swarms, cave companion support, and surprisingly effective combatant despite small size.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Bat_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Onyc in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Bat_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Bat_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

Yes. The builder above generates a single SpawnExactDino command that bakes the level and the imprint into one copy-paste line. The saddle comes as a separate cheat gfi command (it can't ride inside the spawn). To set its colours, spawn it first, then use the ARK Dino Color Builder to build the SetTargetDinoColor commands (with a live preview).

summon drops a wild Onyc at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
