ARK Otter Spawn Command

While carried on your shoulder, the Otter provides 75–82 points of Hypothermic insulation and 34–38 points of Hyperthermic insulation to the player, scaling with its Melee Damage stat. It is also the only creature in ARK whose inventory functions as a structure, allowing it to carry multiple Artifacts of the same type simultaneously. Otter is a piscivore. Passive tame — kill fish, drag the corpse to the Otter, and press Use to feed it while holding the fish. Larger fish and fish killed by an Ichthyornis give higher taming progress per fish. After taming it only eats fish meat. Found along inland waterways.

Pick the Otter up and place it on your shoulder (interact key). The insulation buff is passive and constant while it is on your shoulder or standing near you. To use it as an Artifact carrier, simply place Artifacts in its inventory — it holds multiples of the same type unlike any other creature. It automatically harvests Silica Pearls (and rarely Black Pearls) from small fish it kills on its own. Level Melee Damage to increase the insulation value — this is the only stat that scales the temperature protection. Equip it with a helmet for extra damage resistance. Its inventory does not extend spoilage timers (structure-type inventory), so do not use it as a food cache. Use it specifically as an Artifact mule when running boss tribute runs to carry multiples without wasting other creatures' slots.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Otter_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Otter in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Otter_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Otter_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

The saddle comes as a separate cheat gfi command (it can't ride inside the spawn). summon drops a wild Otter at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
