ARK Velonasaur Spawn Command

The Velonasaur can enter a Turret Mode, locking its legs in place and rapidly firing a storm of spines at targets — functioning like a living gatling gun. It also has a Spin Attack that fires spines in a 360-degree arc around it. Velonasaur is a carnivore. Knockout tamed with low base torpor, making taming relatively quick. Found natively on Extinction (desert dome), Genesis Part 2, and Fjordur. Preferred food is Raw Mutton; preferred kibble is Regular Kibble.

Press C (keyboard) or Right Stick (controller) to toggle Turret Mode. While in Turret Mode, use Left Mouse Button / RT / R2 / ZR to fire spines (costs 135 stamina/second). The Spin Attack is activated with Right Mouse Button / LT / L2 / ZL and costs 315 stamina. Both attacks are used while mounted. Level Stamina heavily — turret fire drains 135 stamina per second and the spin attack costs 315, so a low-stamina Velo runs dry fast. Level Health for survivability and Melee Damage for war-mount use (note: damage output is capped in turret mode). Ridden spine attacks deal 5 damage per spike; unridden (e.g., set to aggressive guarding a base) deal 20 per spike. Spines temporarily ground flying creatures, briefly disabling flight. Spine attacks ignore armor damage multipliers, making the Velo effective against armored targets.

Base defense (set to aggressive in turret mode near supply drops or gates), anti-air (grounds flyers), PvP war mount, scouting (decent speed and jump). Not a primary resource harvester.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Spindles_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Velonasaur in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Spindles_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Spindles_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

Yes. The builder above generates a single SpawnExactDino command that bakes the level and the imprint into one copy-paste line. The saddle comes as a separate cheat gfi command (it can't ride inside the spawn). To set its colours, spawn it first, then use the ARK Dino Color Builder to build the SetTargetDinoColor commands (with a live preview).

summon drops a wild Velonasaur at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
