ARK Xiphactinus Spawn Command

The Xiphactinus has a lunge-and-grab attack: it lunges forward to grab creatures below 210 drag weight, then thrashes and swallows them whole, triggering a Blood Frenzy buff. Against larger targets it grabs and tears off flesh, causing bleeding. The Blood Frenzy buff rapidly regenerates HP at the cost of Food for 35 seconds, and the timer resets each time it triggers. Xiphactinus is a carnivore (piscivore — eats raw fish meat and raw mutton for taming). Knockout tamed; preferred taming food is Raw Mutton, preferred kibble is Superior Kibble. Found in ocean biomes on The Island and other maps. Added to the base game from the ARK Additions mod. Spawns in groups and is aggressively territorial. Genesis Ascended (July 2026) added an X-Xiphactinus biome variant — wiki-verified spawn class, not yet tested in-game.

The lunge-grab is activated with Right Mouse Button while mounted and swimming. Standard bite attack uses Left Mouse Button. The Blood Frenzy buff triggers automatically upon swallowing a small creature or lunging into a larger one — it is not manually activated. Level Melee Damage and Health for combat effectiveness. The Blood Frenzy's self-healing makes it a durable ocean fighter if you can keep triggering it — chain kills on smaller fish to maintain the buff during long fights. The grab attack on small creatures can be used to instantly kill and swallow them for the buff. Xiphactinus are naturally fast and often spawn in packs, making them effective for rapid ocean traversal and clearing underwater threats. Its 35-second buff timer can be refreshed indefinitely.

Fast ocean travel, killing ocean predators (Megalodon, Ichthyosaurus, Electrophorus), underwater combat, harvesting Raw Fish Meat from ocean fauna.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Xiphactinus_Character_BP_ASA_C to spawn a wild Xiphactinus in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Xiphactinus_Character_BP_ASA_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "Xiphactinus_Character_BP_ASA_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

Yes. The builder above generates a single SpawnExactDino command that bakes the level and the imprint into one copy-paste line. The saddle comes as a separate cheat gfi command (it can't ride inside the spawn). To set its colours, spawn it first, then use the ARK Dino Color Builder to build the SetTargetDinoColor commands (with a live preview).

summon drops a wild Xiphactinus at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
