ARK Grand Tortugar Spawn Command

Can retract into its shell, rendering the rider and all passengers completely invulnerable to damage and most environmental hazards — including radiation, lava, swamp gas, spore damage, sandstorms, and oxygen drain. Passengers inside the closed shell also receive a constant Oxygen buff that recharges their Oxygen stat. Grand Tortugar is a herbivore. Knockout tame via Longneck Rifle and Tranq Darts; always aim away from the shell for efficient torpor gain. Available on the Astraeos map. Supports 1 rider and 3 passengers; a Platform Saddle variant allows base-building on its back.

Shell retraction is activated while mounted; the wiki does not specify the exact keybind but the ability is rider-controlled. The shell protection is active only while closed. Passengers enter via the 3 available passenger seats on the saddle. Swimming requires no Stamina. The Tortugar cannot drown while knocked unconscious (no Oxygen stat). The closed shell makes it the safest vehicle for crossing the Aberration surface, radiation zones, or any damage-heavy environment with a group. Aim tranq shots at the head or soft underbelly — not the shell, which has high damage resistance and absorbs far less torpor. Passengers inside a closed shell are also not valid targets for enemy turrets configured to target players only. Level Health and Melee for combat viability; its natural shell armor handles environmental threat.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon GrandTortugar_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Grand Tortugar in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "GrandTortugar_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use the builder above, or cheat gmsummon "GrandTortugar_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level. ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

summon drops a wild Grand Tortugar at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify, the one most people want.
