ARK Cat Spawn Command

A shoulder-mount pet that can attack small threats while perched on the player's shoulder and passively scares away certain small creatures within 16 foundations once every 5 seconds. It has a 10% chance to produce a Hairball when petted. Cat is a carnivore. Added to ASA during the April Fools' Day 2025 event. Each wild Cat has a randomly assigned temperament (passive, angry, or scared) toward each individual survivor — only those passive toward you can be tamed by you. Ported from Atlas alongside Natrix, Grand Tortugar, and the Hydra.

Pick it up and place it on your shoulder to activate shoulder-mount mode — attack happens automatically when small enemies are in range. To pet it, use the interact action on it while it is on the ground. Taming requires passive feeding with food in the last hotbar slot — only approach cats that display a passive temperament toward your character specifically. The Cat cannot take damage while on your shoulder unless the player dies or it is knocked off. Items stored in its inventory weigh 50% less to the player. Equip helmets on the Cat for additional damage resistance. Best used as a lightweight companion for early-game survivors who want passive creature deterrence and a small weight reduction bonus rather than a combat mount.

Open the console with ~ and enter cheat summon Cat_Character_BP_C to spawn a wild Cat in ARK: Survival Ascended. For a tamed one at a level you choose, use cheat gmsummon "Cat_Character_BP_C" 150. On a server, run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> first and keep the cheat prefix.

Use cheat gmsummon "Cat_Character_BP_C" <level>. The number is the pre-tame level — ARK adds up to a 50% taming bonus, so a value of 100 ends up around level 150. To hit a target level, divide it by 1.5. A gmsummon creature still needs a saddle to ride.

summon drops a wild Cat at a random level. SummonTamed gives you a tamed one but at a random level you can't set. gmsummon spawns it tamed at the level you specify — the one most people want.

Yes. In single player the cheat prefix is optional and no password is needed. On a dedicated or non-dedicated session you must run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> once, then prefix each spawn with cheat. Set that admin password without hand-editing files using our free ARK config generators.
