Towers are the story bosses that gate each region. Here's what every fight has in common before you walk in.

It's a 2v1 duel. You and your single active Pal face a human faction leader riding a boosted signature Pal. Your five-Pal team still cycles in as each one faints, but only one is out at a time.
10-minute timer. Run out of time and the fight resets — no penalty, just try again. There's no capturing the boss Pal, so bring damage, not Pal Spheres.
Element counter is everything. Match your team to the weakness in the table above (e.g. Ground into Grizzbolt, Dragon into Shadowbeak). A same-level team that counters the element beats an over-level team that doesn't.
Fixed locations. Every tower sits at the same coordinates on every world, so the coords above are exact and never reroll.
Each tower unlocks the next region and raises the story gate, which is why the level order and the story order are the same.
