Terraria isn't a strict boss ladder like some survival games, but the main line is gated — a handful of bosses are hard checkpoints you can't skip:
Each boss with its stage, how to summon it, and what its death opens up. Optional bosses are flagged. Tap a row once you've beaten one — it dims, strikes out and sinks to the bottom, and saves on your device so you always know what's left.

The three Mechanical Bosses can be fought in any order — you just need all three down before Plantera. The Empress of Light is reachable right after Plantera, but she hits like a post-Golem boss, so most players come back for her later.
Terraria isn't a live-service game — there are no seasonal balance patches shuffling the order. This list is built on Desktop 1.4.5, the current version, and the summon items and gates are confirmed against the official wiki.
