Astegon is found at Destroyed Mineshaft / Mount Obsidian, at coordinates -576, -421. The nearest fast travel point is Mount Obsidian Midpoint, so you can be on top of it within seconds of unlocking it.

Best counters

Astegon is Dragon + Dark, so lead with Dragon damage and you'll carve through its health bar fast. Reliable picks: Jetragon, Astegon. Pack a bow or firearm too — poking from outside its attack range beats trading hits up close.

Fight plan

1. Gear and level check. Be around level 48+ with a ranged weapon, and a stack of decent spheres if you want to catch it.
2. Exploit the weakness. Send in your Dragon Pal and keep its skills on cooldown — that's where the real damage comes from.
3. Stay mobile. Kite in a wide circle, dodge the wind-ups, and never get cornered against the terrain.
4. Capture or finish. For the catch, chip it under ~20% HP then chain spheres during recovery windows. Just farming? Delete it — it respawns on the usual timer.
