Is Forglar just a swamp map?
No — the 'Forglar Swamp' nickname undersells it. The finished map has ten biomes: beach, grassland, crystal areas, swamps, full ocean, redwoods, snow, lava, a Magic/Fantasy zone and a desert, plus an Aberration-style bioluminescent underground. The swamp is just one region.
Free or paid — which Forglar should I install?
Install the paid Forglar Part I (Premium) (Mod ID 1009169) — that's the complete, actively-maintained map. The free listing (Mod ID 935835) is an outdated 2024 demo that's missing most of the finished content, and loading it by mistake is a common source of confusion.
What bosses does Forglar have?
The three classic bosses — Broodmother, Megapithecus and Dragon — in custom new arenas, summoned the standard way (tribute at an obelisk, then Gamma/Beta/Alpha) and unlocking Tekgrams. On top of that there are mini-bosses (a Golem with a Thylacoleo teleport quirk, and a Spino) and a roaming Corrupted Giga world-boss in the desert.
Where are the obelisks on Forglar?
Forglar uses four obelisks (it adds a Yellow one). Approximate coordinates from the wiki map data: Red ~26.8/52.2, Blue ~7.4/14.5, Green ~74.2/61.6, Yellow ~58.0/21.2. Treat these as the wiki's grid — close, but eyeball them in-game.
Are dinos despawning / is the Forglar map empty?
That complaint is from mid-2024, on an early build of the map — players reported the map emptying out after a few days. The map has since been marked complete (v1.0, updated 2026), so it most likely doesn't apply anymore. If you hit it on the current build, check your server's spawn settings and report it on the mod's CurseForge/Discord.
What custom creatures are on Forglar?
A big roster: cross-map customs like Pyromane, Oasisaur, Shastasaurus, Rhyniognatha, Deinotherium, Deinosuchus and a Griffin, plus a whole Magic line (Magic Parasaur, Pteranodon, Triceratops, Raptor, Stego, Megatherium, Therizino, Tapejara) and unique named creatures — Elderclaw, Dreadmare (a 'Dark Pegasus'), 'Chupa' and Maeguana — mostly in the Magic/Fantasy biome.
Where's the Forglar resource map?
We don't publish an exact-pin resource map — on a mod map the node coordinates aren't reliably documented and shift between updates, so a pinned map would be guessing.
