Once Human Deviants Tier List

Deviants are the captured anomalies you put to work — some fight beside you, some run your base while you're offline, some craft gear you can't make any other way. Here's a tier list plus, more usefully, the best pick for each job and how to get it. One honest note up front: tiers are opinion-based and shift with balance patches, and a combat deviant and a base-automation deviant aren't really competing for the same slot — so read the roles, not just the letters.

Season: Visional Wheel S4 "Gravity Abyss" (live May 27 2026) · reconciled from current guides · updated 4 June 2026
The short version
Combat: Butterfly's Emissary, Mr. Wish, Lonewolf's Whisper. Base: Digby Boy, Logging Beaver, Electric Eel.
Butterfly's Emissary is the best zero-effort damage boost; the base trio automates ore, wood and power. Full tier list ↓

Deviant tier list

A reconciled ranking across the freshest sources. Read it loosely: S-tier combat picks and S-tier base picks both sit at the top, but they do completely different jobs — a base-automation deviant in a lower row isn't "worse" than a combat one above it, it's just judged on a different axis.

TierDeviants
SButterfly's Emissary, Mr. Wish, Lonewolf's Whisper, Festering Gel, Chefosaurus Rex, H37, Frog the Leaper
AZeno-Purifier, The Digby Boy, Electric Eel, Nutcracker
BLogging Beaver, Growshroom, Dr. Teddy, Enchanting Void, Dreamcatcher, By the Wind, Harveseed, Fetch-a-lot Bunny
CBuzzy Bee, Atomic Lighter, Space Turner, Polar Jelly, Lava Fox, Grumpy Bulb, Canine Skull, Gingerbread House
Where this comes from. Reconciled from skycoach (Feb 2026), GAMES.GG (Apr 2026) and Game8's "Best Deviation" guide — note Game8, the most thorough, stopped covering Once Human in late 2025, so the A/B/C placements are a composite, not one site's verbatim ladder. Combat rankings are stable across all three; utility/base placements are softer. Verify against current in-game data before committing — this is a strong starting point, not gospel.

How deviants work + the count

Once Human Deviants FAQ

What's the best all-round deviant?
Butterfly's Emissary for combat — it marks weak spots for a big damage boost with zero micromanagement, and you get it free in the tutorial. For your base, The Digby Boy (auto-mines ore) is the single highest-value utility pick.
Which deviants automate my base?
The automation trio: Digby Boy (ore), Logging Beaver (wood) and Electric Eel (more base power). Add Chefosaurus Rex (better food) and H37 (rare materials) for buffs and gathering.
How many deviants are there?
About 80 all-time (approximate). The current S4 "Gravity Abyss" season added no new base deviants — just three Morphed season variants plus returning Season 1 deviations.
Is the tier list current for this season?
It's reconciled from the freshest available guides (Feb–Apr 2026) for the S4 season. Tier lists are opinion-based and move with patches, so use it as a starting point and verify in-game — the combat picks are the most stable, the A/B/C utility order is softer.
