How to Find & Summon Axl

Axl doesn't just wander up — he's an optional boss you summon. He lives at the Battlefield 1992 arena in the northwest corner of Pine Hill (inside the hedge, right by a Mega Milk Molar), but you start the fight with a specific item.

Get the recipe from the Empty Terrarium

Find the Store Receipt inside the Empty Terrarium — the big orange tank in the Ceremony region (Axl's origin, and the Home Alone nod). It's tucked up high inside. Picking it up unlocks the Poached Roach Roast recipe.

Craft the Poached Roach Roast

Cook the Roast — roughly 1 Roach Head, 4 Roach Parts, 3 Garden Snail Slime, and 1 EverChar Coal Chunk. (Exact quantities can shift in Early Access — confirm in the in-game crafting menu.) Make a couple of spares if you plan to farm him.

Place it at Battlefield 1992

Head to the arena and place the Roast in the egg cluster near the entrance. That spawns Axl and seals the arena until one of you is dead. Die and want a rematch? The Roast respawns at the arena's center, so you don't have to re-cook one every attempt.

How to Beat Axl

You cannot out-damage his 75% resistance by swinging harder. The entire fight is built around one loop:

Build stun. Hit him with high-stun weapons until his stun bar fills and he topples over.
Hit the rump scar. When he's down, the scar on his abdomen is exposed and takes about 4× damage — this is where his health actually drops. Dump everything here.
Reset and repeat through the phases.

Weapons stun, not element

High-stun: the Pinch Whacker, or fast stun-stackers like Northern Shredders / Mantis Blade. See the weapons tier list.

Armor crit on stun

Praying Mantis Armor is the standout — while Axl is stunned, your hits count as criticals and your attack speed spikes, turning the topple window into a burst.

Mutations & cures venom

Mithridatism (venom resist) is near-mandatory — he stacks Venom constantly. Pack Scorpidote to cleanse it, plus Parry Master / a damage mutation.

Defense dodge, don't block

His big hits are unblockable — dodge those and only perfect-block the bites. And stay out of the dens (see below).

The Talon trap. His own drop weapon, Axl's Talon, is a Stabbing weapon — and Axl resists Stabbing by 50%. It's a great general-use venom spear, but it's one of the worst things to bring to a rematch. Don't farm the Talon expecting to beat him with it.

Axl is Tier 3 with roughly 5,000 HP. Most of his heavy hits are unblockable, and Venom is the recurring threat. He gates into new phases at 80% and 20% HP (and is briefly immune to all damage near ~18% during the transition — don't waste cooldowns there).

One-handed Stabbing spear with the Venom Attack perk (+20 Venom on hits, +30 on charge). Unlock by analyzing Tarantula Venom; craft from 2 Tarantula Talon + 3 Tarantula Chunk + 2 Tarantula Venom. Great everywhere except back at Axl.

Pheromone Shot mutation

The reward mutation for beating him. On a perfect charged attack (Bow, Greatbow, Sickle, Dagger or Fist), nearby Buggies deal +35% damage and get targeted far more often for 15 seconds — a pet/Buggy synergy buff.
