Ark Survival Ascended Scorched Earth Cave Locations

🌵 Ark Survival Ascended Scorched Earth Cave Locations – Scorch, Storm, Artifact!
Scorched Earth Ascended is where heatstroke meets horror caves. It’s ARK’s first real desert biome—complete with sandstorms, Thorny Dragons that don’t help, and caves full of Mantis ambushes and regret. If you want to fight the Manticore boss, you’ll need all three artifacts. And probably some water.
📍 Artifact Cave Coordinates – ASA Scorched Earth
Artifact | Cave | Coordinates |
---|---|---|
Crag | Grave of the Tyrants | 28.2, 29.0 |
Gatekeeper | The Old Tunnels | 58.8, 47.7 |
Destroyer | Ruins of Nosti | 78.4, 76.1 |
Each cave serves its own flavor of pain:
- Grave of the Tyrants = tight quarters, bugs, and golems
- Old Tunnels = confusing maze with vertical jumps and high spawn rates
- Nosti = wide open, vertical madness and surprise Thylacoleo attacks
💀 What Spawns Inside?
Expect: Onyc, Arthropleura, Mantis, Pulmonoscorpius, Rock Golems, Bats, and heatstroke-induced swearing.
🧰 Scorched Earth Cave Survival Kit
- Gas Mask or Hazard Suit – Sandstorms choke you out mid-fight
- Water Jars – Not optional. You will dry out like jerky
- Shotgun / Flamethrower – For Mantises and buggy hallways
- Thylacoleo – Best tame for tight jumps and ledge traversal
- Beds / Cryopods – Dying in caves is tradition. Plan ahead.
- Grappling Hook – Especially for Ruins of Nosti loot crates sitting on death ledges
🧠 Pro Tip: If you fall in a crate pit without a grapple, that’s archaeology now. You’re the relic.
📦 Scorched Earth Desert Drop Locations – ASA
Scorched Earth has land-based supply beacons that drop in specific desert zones—these often rival cave loot and are much easier to farm.
🔻 Known Desert Beacon Zones:
Coordinates | Drop Notes |
---|---|
82.7, 78.5 | Southeast canyon rim (high elevation) |
79.8, 80.9 | On high desert rock ledge |
79.6, 75.0 | Flat sandy open zone |
85.5, 84.7 | Rocky ridge, watch for vultures |
88.2, 84.4 | Near mountain base, exposed to weather |
87.7, 89.4 | Close to southern dunes—easy access |
🧠 Tip: These drop yellow and red crates, often with ascendant gear or blueprints. Use a fast flyer or a fast tame with decent weight.
📊 Crate Comparison Table – Caves vs Drops
Source | Location | Crate Count | Quality | Risk | Worth It? |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Artifact Caves | Crag, Gatekeeper, Destroyer | 1–3 per run | Yellow/Red | 🔥 High | ⚠️ Yes (if geared) |
Desert Drops | Southeast Desert | 5–6 active | Red/Yellow | 🌵 Medium | ✅ Yes (easy and repeatable) |
🧂 Final Words of Wisdom
If you tame a Thorny Dragon and name it “Scorch,” you’re legally allowed to blame it for every failure on this map.
You’re gonna die from heat. Accept it.
The caves are rough but manageable if you bring water and a Thyla.
Desert drops are your backup loot path if caves aren’t your thing.
